TRAIL ACTIVITIES
- Beauview is found on a quiet country road just 15 km
outside of the town of Huntsville. For
walks, the country road follows
the shoreline of Lake of Bays in both directions.
- You'll enjoy Cycling and Mountain biking around the
lake.
Accessible from our property are a number of Cycle routes on asphalt
surfaces including the Whitehouse Loop - 10 km. and the Britannia Loop -
approx. 30km. and the Brunel Locks Route - approx. 45km (3 km of
gravel terrain). The scenic circle
route around Lake of Bays route is approximately
85 km. long. The roads around Huntsville and Beauview are used for the
annual Ironman Qualifier Triathlon.
- A great route nearby is through Algonquin Park. Leave
your car at the West Gate and cycle to the East gate and back. The trip is
120km on newly paved road with 3 foot wide paved shoulders.
- In the trees and bush at the side of the road, you'll
see deer, fox, rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks. Birds in the area vary with
the season. Chickadees, Jays, woodpeckers, hawks, owls, nuthatches,
Waxwings, ducks, Ruffed grouse are some examples. The haunting cry of
the Loon can be heard April to November.
