stay on, if need be.  They will not see the Colony close down.  Ross may have
an interested person.

of almonds.  She will let these go at cost price, if anyone is interested.
(choclates bars $28.00 case of 24) (almonds $36.00 case of 24).  They sell
for $3.00 a piece.

(Ross) There were 2 letters read .  One was from Tom Barry; he is the AYM
Co-ordinator.  They would like to see co-ordination between the agencies:
Huntsville Culture, Parks and Recreation, Community Living Huntsville,
Centennial Seniors and Family, Youth and Child Services, Muskoka.  We would
like further information on this, as to how Scouting could be involved.

The second letter, was from Judy Langston.  She is connected with "Circle of
Friends".  It was decided that you would have to have special training for
this, and we are not able to do this at this time.

Dick Harris:  move to adjourn.

Rick Gould: seconded.

Burk's Falls was handed in tonight with membership of 34.  He has not heard from Stephenson or Emsdale yet.  He needs to have Heather's and Gord's from
District.
He has to have the forms in by the end of the month.  Ross will get in touch with Stephenson and Emsdale.

Bernadette(on Popcorn)  The following are the contact people for popcorn for their area:  Huntsville-Joyce Peters;  Stephenson-Pat Dube; Emsdale-Yvonne Bush
Popcorn is being sold for the month of October.  Barrie has to have the order by November 4th.  Delivery date for the popcorn will be November 18th.

D.C.'s report-  A phamplet was handed out for  the Toronto Youth Badge Programs.  Bruce needs to know who is attending Wood Badge training on Nov.
25th/26th.
In regards to the Chief Scout's Award ceremonies- RSVP was late.  There have been problems with Huntsville's Group Committee; Bruce will be visiting them.
The District badges will be held by Bruce for the future.  He has talked with Cathy Taylor;  they will not be registering her as District Badge
Secretary.  Bruce questioned why the beads for Len Sperry were never handed out; they were found in the badge box. Cathy will check into old Burk's Falls records.

John Hancock made the motion to not register a District Badge Secretary, and to make the existing badges available at a discount.  Cathy Snell seconded the motion.

The existing badges will be made available at the next District Meeting.

Cathy Snell:  questioned whether or not Cubs could have a special event in district.  It was mentioned that there was no reason why Burk's Falls couldn't host such an event.  Financial assistance could be made available from district, if requested.

ADC Beaver Report- none
ADC Cubs- none
ADC Scouts- John has had 2 visits to 2nd Huntsville.  He is available to go to Burk's Falls, if needed.  He is on the C.J. Training Camp Committee

Bruce;  re: interviews for new members.  The questions on the back of the form, need to be understood.  Make sure that they know about the Missions and Principles of Scouting.  Be sure to ask if there are any problems that may arise from the police check?  Bruce will be at Burk's Falls Group Committee meeting on October 30th.

Old Business: none.

New Business:  (John)  The philosophy of fundraising value for money/selling services. Everyone who gives you money should be getting something in return,
whether it be an object or services.  NO RAFFLES; NO GAMBLING,etc., If parents were to be at  for example "Rainbow Bingo" ; it would have to be listed as parents of Beavers, Cubs , Scouts.  We are trying to set a standard for the youth.

If someone were to sponsor a youth an individual could get a "tax deductible receipt"

Joyce- heard that the Girl Guides were selling popcorn in Huntsville;  John will check into this.

Ross- mention that Gord would like to get up-dates for the web site from the groups.

Bernadette-wants to have Burk's Falls web site linked with the Huntsville site.  It was mentioned that all personal information should be removed from the site.

Move to adjourn:  Bruce

Seconded:  Joyce
